summer feet.
We spent a lot of time in my parent’s greenhouse last summer. Wes and I indulged in heaps of berries and veggies but it was also a great backdrop for some of my favourite images I created, too. We’re so happy it’s growing season again.
I bopped into my parent’s driveway conveniently around supper time. We were happy to find “Nana C” in her natural element as we made our way up the path from the car. Wes ran barefoot into the greenhouse and bee-lined for the chicken coop where he eyed up some eggs that had yet to be collected. He got right in the coop and snatched them up like he was on an Easter hunt, proudly bringing the eggs out to show us. He put them down and proceeded to munch on some of the first raspberries of the season, his cheeks and fingers covered in red juice.
With the help of this greenhouse and the Netflix show “Waffles and Mochi,” Wes is developing a keen sense of where food comes from. At almost two, it’s cute to see his excitement.
I have plans to continue the greenhouse and garden series I began last summer, throwing Arlo into the mix, too. We are growing some of our favourite memories here and in the slow and small things we do each day. I’m happy to see the dirty, summer feet and the berry-covered faces, and most of all, I’m just so happy it’s summer.
