I love delivering galleries and finding out that happy tears were shed when they saw their images for the first time! Happy tears are always good tears!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these two for quite a number of years now and photographing them has always been a breezy job but I brought backup just incase. I had my young assistant strapped to my back and he was calling the shots and hollering at Melinda and Emma to smile. [Wes had to come with me on this one and we had a lot of laughs as we super imposed what he might be saying (yelling) as he’s not quite talking yet. It made things even lighter than they already were - he really was a great help… or as great a help as an 11-month-old can be!]

It’s not often I get to photograph in my hometown but they travelled to me which allowed me to show off one of my favourite spots called “The Salmon Hole” where I would spend the majority of our summers swimming and cooling off when I was a kid. We caught up as old friends do along the water and continued to explore along a river during the hot afternoon. I’m so happy I was able to reconnect with Melinda and Emma and even happier with the images that were captured!
