A day at the lake.
I put out a feeler a few weeks ago for ‘families willing to have a bit of fun’ and said “in your email, make the subject ‘dill pickle chips’ so I’ll respond quickly because I’ll open it as fast as I open a real bag of chips” and Amy dropped me a note really quickly. She said they had two boys and a cottage on a lake. Excellent!
Well, the fun did we have! We met up at the cottage, spent five minutes doing “boring” photos, then ran for the water.
Before I left for this session, I thought “I better check the mail” as I had ordered a waterproof housing unit for my camera. It wasn’t due to arrive until August but sure enough, it was in my box! It couldn’t have come on a better day. These guys were my guinea pigs. Was this unit going to work or was this going to be an insurance claim? It’s always terrifying. I slid my camera into the bag and hoped for all my luck that it would come out dry AND IT DID! While I didn’t fully submerge it, I was still allowing it to get pretty wet and was impressed with it. I’ll still err on the side of caution, but I was really impressed with it.
To me, this is what family photos is all about. This is what summer is all about. Let’s do more of this together!
