Rev. Heather Manuel.

During the pandemic, Rev. Heather Manuel made sure to ring the bell at the 193-year-old Wesley United Church in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. Throughout the pandemic, Rev. Heather spread her positivity and hope to many folks in our small community.

Rev. Heather is the first person I’ve photographed for my newest personal project. During the winter months, I find it difficult to create. Rather than remain frustrated, I’ve decided to channel that and photograph community members in their most prominent roles. My goal is to build an archive with an emphasis on local faces and eventually have an exhibit that can be visited by the public. Sure, having an online gallery is lovely but gosh, I’d love to see them displayed somewhere together.
