megan and tim // hillsborough golf club engagement session
Meet Megan and Tim. One of the most fun couples I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with.
Megan and Tim mentioned that they loved golf during our initial consultation. I briefly mentioned that their session was meant to reflect who they were as a couple. Well frig, they took that and RAN WITH IT. I met them at their house, we hung out with their cats and then headed to the golf course. Upon arrival, they went to grab their carts and came out in FULL COSTUME including suspenders, argyle socks and cleats. I’ve had cool surprises before like flowers at work and surprise deposits in my bank account once or twice but COSTUMES at a photo session without me having to coordinate it first LIKE C’MON!
… And it went downhill from there. The session included a full round of golf, champagne, a couple beers, sparklers and an incredible sunset to close it off. I shot this session while I was 32 weeks pregnant and I kid you not, I laughed so much during this session that I went into premature labour and had to be in the hospital for a week (don’t worry - Wes didn’t bother to come out until nine days after his due date in the end looool :|)
Unfortunately these guys had to postpone their wedding due to coronavirus BUT August 2021 is going to be a rockin’ time. I can’t friggin’ wait.
What Megan and Tim said
“Most photographers I started looking into when we got engaged more so had the same kind of aesthetic but that's not really what we wanted. Hil suggested that we do something that represents us which is exactly what we did. Our pictures could not have turned out as fun and as "us" as possible without her. We showed up in costumes, with sparklers and got a little drunk which she EMBRACED. She knew exactly what we should do, what poses and angles and shots would turn out best. I had sent her some ideas for photos beforehand and she DELIVERED; she took the ideas and made them our own. She made us genuinely laugh which makes the photos turn out so much more real (instead of a photographer saying look at each other and just pretend to laugh). If you’re looking for just a plain ‘ol generic photographer, she is not your girl!”
