“Get out of here with that damn camera, girl”.

Nanny swatted at me with her words. Her hands were full, preparing supper. Her kitchen was in a flurry with pots on the stove. At first glance, it would appear several things are going on at once. There was a time when I questioned whether I had ADHD or not, but now that I’m medicated, it is easier to see the genetic trail. She quickly states “I’m not like you - I follow a recipe”. The truth is, I wish I could follow a recipe but the aforementioned ADHD is a bLeSsInG that has gifted me with frantic, directionless creativity.

I’d snap the photo of her in the kitchen anyway - for when my memory doesn’t serve me as well.

I’ve gotten back into the swing of bringing a camera with me more often. This practice slides from time to time but it’s no different than any other activity: sometimes you need a break.
